MHA Announces Executive Changes
December 18, 2006 (Florham Park, NJ): Managed Health Care Associates, Inc. (MHA), the nation’s largest alternate site GPO, announced today that Michael J. Sicilian has been promoted to the position of President where he will report directly to Doug Present, MHA’s Chairman and CEO. He had previously served as Executive Vice President. In this new capacity, all of MHA’s business units, with the exception of the company’s Long Term Care pharmacy division will report to Mr. Sicilian. MHA’s current President, Raymond Schwartz has requested and received a reduction in his time commitment at the company. He will continue to work for the company three days per week and will serve in an advisory capacity to the CEO.
“This is a logical next step in the evolution of our company,” said Doug Present, MHA’s Chairman and CEO. “Ray Schwartz has been in the industry for over 32 years and spent the last 15 of those at MHA. He has taught me more about this business than anyone else during my five years with the company. When he requested the opportunity to reduce his time commitment to MHA, I was happy to accommodate him and pleased that I will continue to have access to his wisdom and experience.”
“Under Mike Sicilian’s leadership, MHA has become the largest GPO in the country for Home Infusion pharmacies as well as the dominant managed care network for LTC pharmacies serving Part D patients. He is now the obvious choice to lead our efforts as we pursue Specialty Pharmacy, Combo Shop, Dietary, and other classes of trade. I am certain these businesses will continue to grow and thrive under Mike’s leadership.”
