MHA Independent Long Term Care Pharmacy Network
Announces Its Number of Pharmacy Locations Now Exceeds 400

FLORHAM PARK, NJ (June 15, 2005) MHA, the leading Alternate Site Care GPO in the country announces it has now signed over 400 members to its industry leading MHA Independent Long Term Care Pharmacy Network. The Network was built to assist Independent Pharmacy providers and prospective PDPs/MA-PDPs manage the new drug benefit under the MMA legislation.  Formally launched less than 60 days ago, the MHA Network has experienced significant growth and interest from both Independent LTC Pharmacies eager to join the Network and several of the nation’s largest PDPs/MA-PDPs who see the value in accessing independent LTC pharmacies via an organized network.

Michael J. Sicilian, Executive Vice President for MHA commented, “MHA continues to be very pleased with the interest we are receiving from the Independent LTC Pharmacy community as well as the willingness of the PDPs/MA-PDPs to come to the table and negotiate.  MHA is by far the largest Independent LTC Pharmacy Network in the country today with over 400 formally executed provider agreements, giving MHA the exclusive ability to negotiate reimbursement rates on behalf of its participating pharmacies.  The Network now represents a majority of LTC beds serviced by Independent LTC Pharmacies in the US.  We are excited to see that our strategy is working and we expect to shortly roll out a portfolio of contracts that will enable our members to provide appropriate care to Medicare patients under the new prescription drug benefit”.

MHA Independent LTC Pharmacy Network is a wholly owned subsidiary of Managed Health Care Associates, Inc.; the largest Alternate Site focused Group Purchasing Organization operating in the marketplace today.  The Network will represent Independent LTC Pharmacy providers as reimbursement rates are established between Network members and PDPs/MA-PDPs under the new Medicare Part D benefit plan beginning January 1, 2006.  MHA created the Network in an effort to develop a reimbursement model that is reflective of the unique clinical and delivery services provided by Independent LTC Pharmacies to their respective homes and patients.  MHA is a committed advocate of all Independent LTC Pharmacy providers and looks forward to the continued growth of the Network.
