MHA Announces Specialty Pharmacy Initiative 

October 26, 2005 (FLORHAM PARK, NJ): Managed Health Care Associates, Inc., the largest Alternate Site GPO in the country, announced today that it has embarked on a new Specialty Pharmacy Initiative geared towards expanding pharmaceutical contracting for its Home Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy division.  The goal of this initiative is the ongoing education and contracting with major biotech manufacturers in the specialty infusion and self injectable market place. The initiative will be lead by Michael J. Sicilian, MHA’s EVP for Alternate Site.  Prior to joining MHA in January of this year, Mr. Sicilian spent the last four years working closely with biotech manufacturers in his role as a national provider of specialty infusion and self injectable therapies.  

Mr. Sicilian stated “We have seen a number of specialty pharmacies acquire regional and local infusion therapy providers.  It is clear that based on recent meetings with the biotech pharmaceutical companies there is a role for MHA in assisting biotech manufacturers both understand and access this changing market place.  There is significant interest in the data collection efforts we have made to date, and in leveraging MHA’s capabilities in this arena.”
