MHA awarded Business Affiliate
of the Year at
Florham Park, NJ (July 7, 2004)-Recently The Virginia Association of Nonprofit Homes of the Aging (VANHA) awarded Managed Health Care Associates (MHA) The Business Affiliate of the Year Award for their dedication and support to their Association. MHA has been VANHA’s preferred GPO since October 2003. As the preferred GPO, MHA has been providing VANHA member facilities with contract purchasing services for pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, equipment and supplies to their nonprofit facilities. Sandee Levin, President of VANHA stated, “MHA was very deserving of this award for their support and innovative programs provided to our nonprofit retirement facilities.” Diane Koontz, Vice President of the Alternate Site Division of MHA, stated, “Being recognized at VANHA’s Summer Conference was a true testament to our commitment to the Long Term Care industry and dedication to our members. MHA is not only proud to be VANHA’s GPO, but also, a business partner with the same objectives; devoted to bringing additional savings and educational services.” VANHA was founded in 1973 by nursing home administrators to represent not for profit retirement housing facilities, adult care residences, nursing homes and continuing care retirement facilities sponsored by a variety of religious, fraternal and private organizations dedicated to providing quality care and services to the elderly. Currently over 100 nonprofit facilities representing over 17,000 residents are members of VANHA. Managed Health Care Associates, (MHA) is a nationwide group purchasing organization in the long-term, alternate-care and acute care markets and provides its members contracted prices on over 550,000 line items. Last year MHA members purchased more than $4 billion worth of pharmaceuticals, medical/surgical, dietary, laboratory and capital equipment.
