Legislative Affairs & Advocacy

Navigating the legislative landscape is critical to our members’ success

The contribution of alternate site health care providers to deliver high quality care and help manage overall health care costs is a well-kept secret to many legislators. Yet, every day, legislative and regulatory developments take place that will affect alternate site health care providers.

Recognizing a clear opportunity for education and empowerment, MHA’s Legislative Affairs team is in place to help our members identify, analyze and advocate on the issues that matter most to their business. A range of tools and activities, including legislative newsletters, member education Webinars, and our annual Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, give our members access to resources to establish an active, impactful voice with legislators.

The Legislative Affairs team also provides support for members to educate legislators on the important contribution members make to the US health care system. To date, MHA members and the Legislative Affairs team have attended and hosted more than 350 legislative meetings with members of congress, and congressional staffers, bringing legislators to member sites to tour their facilities and for face to face dialogue so they fully understand the care and value delivered by our members.

Finally, the Legislative Affairs team is coordinating advocacy positions with trade associations to help convey a clear, unified message with maximum impact.
